Stronger freight demand is translating into higher salaries for drivers

The Wall Street Journal today reported today that wages for truck drivers are rising as truck capacity falls short of demand. Annual salaries for drivers rose between 15% and 18% from 2013 to 2017. The average salary for a national irregular route truckload driver is $53,000. This is 15% higher that it was in 2013.
